Navigating the Challenges of Machine Learning in Genomic Data Analysis

The talk begins with an overview of contemporary machine learning models that are suitable for healthcare data analysis. It then addresses the challenges and solutions associated with applying machine learning to genomic data analysis for the treatment of human diseases. As information technology advances, machine learning is anticipated to become crucial for precise data processing and effective decision-making. To meet the needs of next-generation healthcare, the integration of machine learning and genomic data analytics will be increasingly beneficial, if not essential. The presentation will showcase two projects developed by the speaker and his team. The first project illustrates the application of machine learning techniques for diagnosing skin neoplasms, while the second explores how samples from the Cancer Genome Atlas program can be utilized in machine learning models for cancer diagnosis. The talk will conclude with a discussion of potential collaboration opportunities between Wichita State University and universities in Bangladesh.
